Drive-In Cinema To Screen New Releases

Written by on 14th April 2021

A new drive-in venue coming to Market Harborough is to show the latest films.

The East Midlands Drive-In Venue is set to open at the Showground next month.

Michael Preston, from Fleckney Events, who are launching the new entertainments venture, said: “In essence we are setting up a drive-in cinema which can show new releases.

“At the moment it is just Warner Brothers we have on board but we are hoping to be able to add more studios as the year progresses.

“We will have a host of films to start with including the new Godzilla vs Kong, Tom & Jerry, Mortal Kombat (not yet released!), Wonder Woman 1984 to name just a few.

“Future films from Warner Bros include the latest instalment in The Conjuring universe: The Devil Made Me Do It and the Suicide Squad sequel amongst others.

“We are very excited about this – and we are sure that people across Harborough are going to love this fantastic new outlet.”

Films will be shown on a large LED screen and sound will be broadcast over in-car portable speakers as well as a PA system.

The permanent venue will have its own access, off the B6047 Harborough Road, and as well as drive-in cinemas, will host a range of other events, using a large stage.
