‘Don’t Drive Through Floodwater’ Pleads Fire Service

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is urging people not to drive through flood water.
Firefighters have attended 12 incidents across the county today after vehicles became submerged on flooded roads.
Station Manager Steve Taylor spoke to HFM:
A Flood Alert is in force for the River Welland through Market Harborough and the Welland Valley and the car park opposite the railway station off Rockingham Road is underwater, although no vehicles are affected.

The Flood Alert also covers the River Jordan, from Braybrooke, through Little Bowden and into Market Harborough.
The Environment Agency says flooding is particularly likely in low-lying areas and on roads close to the river as water levels continue to rise.
