A developer has been ordered to stop all work on a new homes site in Desborough after numerous complaints from near-by residents.
North Northamptonshire Council has issued a Temporary Stop Notice for breaches of planning conditions at the site off Buxton Drive and Eyam Close, where Avant Homes is set to build 135 houses.

The notice states no work should have started on the site before a traffic management plan for construction vehicles had been approved and details of how existing trees and hedges on the site were to be protected.
A council spokeperson told HFM: “North Northamptonshire Council’s Planning service has received a number of complaints in relation to developer activity on this site.
“A planning enforcement investigation is in progress and as a part of this, we can confirm that a Temporary Stop Notice has been served.
“Given the ongoing nature of the investigation it would be inappropriate for the Council to make further comment at this stage.
Last year the developer was criticised for removing a six-metre high hedge, which separated the site from a near-by house.
The Temporary Stop Notice is in force until February 27th and states if it is breached court action will be taken.
A spokesperson for Avant Homes told HFM: “Our site in Desborough has been served a temporary stop notice to allow some minor breaches of planning conditions to be resolved.
“We are submitting a comprehensive package of revised plans and documents which address the outstanding matters to the local authority today (February 1).
“Avant Homes will continue to work positively and proactively with the local authority to address any concerns and to rectify any breaches that have been identified.”
