Desborough Transplant Recipient’s Message During Organ Donation Week

A Desborough woman who had a life-changing transplant is encouraging people to talk to their loved ones during Organ Donation Week.
Kathryn Croker received a kidney from her Dad – a living donor – when a rare condition caused hers to fail when she was a child.

More than 200 people are currently on waiting list for a transplant in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the NHS Organ Donation and despite the law changing in 2020, meaning you are automatically on the donor register unless they opt out, families still have the final say.
