Desborough To Celebrate Jubilee With Picnic In The Park

Plans have been announced for a big event in Desborough to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Picnic In The Park will take place at the Dunkirk Avenue Recreation Ground on Saturday June 4th, including live music and entertainment for the whole family.

The fun will begin at 11am when the national anthem will be played and the event will also include a fancy dress parade.

Desborough Town Council is staging the event, with the aim to bring the town together for a community event to celebrate.

Cllr Andy Coleman said: “This is an opportunity for people to get together to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation in a free to enter event.

“Our goals are to create a unique day where the young and the old, tiny toddlers, great grandparents, moms and dads and friends can come together, having been kept apart for two years by Covid, to have a day of celebrating our community and rich heritage.

“We also want to celebrate the talent, innovation and creativity of our community to build a stronger Desborough.”
