Council To Share Management Of Services

Harborough District Council is to merge the management of two services with Melton Borough Council for a trial period.
The sharing of the heads of Environmental Services and Regulatory Services was approved by members of the council’s Cabinet at a meeting last night.
The move has the potential to provide savings of over £50,000 annually and the council says it will also help ‘strengthen’ shared leadership and working.
The decision to go-ahead with the partnership comes after a plan for both to share a Chief Executive and other senior roles was rejected by Harborough councillors last year.
