Harborough District Council is bringing local companies together for a business support event aimed at providing practical help during a challenging economic period.
The “Let’s Talk Business” event will take place at Lutterworth Town Hall on Tuesday 17 February, from 4pm to 6.30pm, and is open to businesses of all sizes across the Harborough district, from sole traders upwards.
Attendees will be able to access subsidised membership of the Federation of Small Businesses, alongside updates on employment law changes affecting employers. Information will also be available on how eligible businesses can apply for £2,000 towards the cost of employing an apprentice, as well as recruitment guidance and ongoing support.
Businesses can also find out more about the Harborough District Business Advice Service, a council-funded programme offering one-to-one advice and workshops to support companies at different stages of growth. Both the free FSB membership and apprentice funding are subject to terms and conditions.
Councillor Jo Asher, cabinet lead for Culture, Leisure, Economy and Tourism, said: “Many local businesses are under real pressure, and it is vital they know what support is available and how to access clear, practical advice. Let’s Talk Business brings that support together in one place, helping businesses navigate change and plan their next steps with confidence.”
The event forms part of the council’s wider commitment to supporting enterprise and encouraging sustainable economic growth across the district. Places are free but must be booked in advance.
