Council Praised For Business Rate Collection

Harborough Council has been named as one of the 10 best authorities in the country for collecting business rates.
A new report says it collected from 99.7% of all local businesses.
Half the cash is retained locally to go towards services, while the rest goes to Central Government.
The Council says as well as the good collection rate, it works hard with businesses to recover outstanding payments where possible.
