Cost Of Rural Crime In Leics Totals £1.2m

The cost of rural crime in Leicestershire amounted to £1.2m last year.
A report by insurers NFU Mutual ranks the county fourth in a list of places with the largest number of claims.
It highlights thefts of livestock, vehicles, equipment and machinery and the impact crimes have on victims, the majority of which are farmers.
Leicestershire Police has recently bolstered its Rural Policing Team which was launched last year in a bid to tackle rural crime.
