Bin collection crews at work in the Harborough District
Harborough’s bin collection crews and environment teams are being praised today as they continue to work during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Harborough Council is one of just a few across the country continue providing all the services, including grass-cutting, thanks to the safe operational methods of contractors FCC Environment.

A group saying thank you to the bin collection crews is Harborough Against Bullying, who’ve presented over 40 Easter Eggs to them.
They had initially been donated for a raffle which had to be cancelled because of the current situation.
Crews at the FCC depot are now holding their own raffle for the eggs and will give the proceeds back to the charity!
A Market Harborough charity has handed out £2,500 to families struggling at the moment.
25 have been helped by The Howard Watson Symington Memorial Charity, each receiving £100
The emergency fund was launched to help those made redundant or who’ve seen their wages reduced because of the pandemic.
Charity Chairman Roger Dunton told Hfm those to benefit have sent messages of thanks:
