Company Acts After Vet Suspended

A vet suspended for four months for kicking and stamping on a dog will not return to work at Vets 4 Pets in Market Harborough.

The company says it has terminated its working relationship with Jatinder Dhami, who was also a Partner in the practice at the Springfield Retail Park.

The firm, part of Pets at Home, says it wants to put the situation behind them and reassure clients that the case does not represent the high quality of care they deliver.

A Pets At Home spokesperson told Hfm: “We put pets at the heart of everything we do and this incident was totally unacceptable.

“Following the conclusion of the RCVS hearing, we can confirm that we have terminated our Partnership with Jatinder Dhami.

“We would like to apologise to the dog’s owner and reassure clients that this case does not represent the high quality of care we deliver at our practices.”

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons committee issued the suspension after a Staffordshire bull terrier was attacked in November 2017, after biting Mr Dhami during a booster injection.
