Community Meeting Called After Flooding

A community meeting will take place in Little Bowden tonight after Sunday’s serious flooding.

Over 20 properties were affected when the River Jordan burst its banks and sent water gushing into surrounding streets.

Homes, the Cherry Tree pub and the Scout Hut were among those flooded and firefighters had to evacuate and rescue some residents by boat.

The Harborough Flood Action Group has organised tonight’s meeting at St Nicholas Church Hall in Little Bowden, from 6pm til 8pm.

The volunteer-led group has a number of Flood Wardens is gathering evidence of what happened to provide to authorities.
