Comments Being Reviewed Ahead Of Decision On New Prison Plan

The Ministry Of Justice says it is reviewing comments made about its plans for a massive new prison near Market Harborough.

People had their say on the proposal during a six-week public consultation and views are being considered before any decision is made to move forward with the proposal.

If it went ahead, the new jail would go up on land owned by the MoJ near HMP Gartree and house around 1,700 male prisoners, as well as creating 600 jobs.
