Campaign Launched For ‘Jubilee Garden’ In Market Harborough

A campaign has been launched for a ‘Jubilee Garden’ to be created in Market Harborough town centre.

Over 300 people have backed the idea to transform an overgrown area off Northampton Road into the new open space, which would act as lasting tribute to Her Late Majesty the Queen.

There are already trees on the site and seating and extra floral features would be added.

The land in question, adjacent to the Market Hall car park, was set-aside for a coach park by Harborough District Council, although the plan has yet to progress.

A petition signed by 326 people and groups supporting the plan will be presented to the council at a meeting next week.
