Work to build new accommodation for the homeless in Market Harborough town centre is set to start next year.

A derelict house on Roman Way will be demolished to make-way for a new three-storey building, which will contain nine apartments to provide temporary housing.

Harborough District Council is behind the project and say technical design work is underway, with work on the site due to begin sometime after April 2023.

Planning permission for the development was granted earlier this year and the council say it will help save on the cost of housing homeless people in hotels and B&B accommodation.
