Building Society Celebrates 150th Birthday!

Market Harborough Building Society is 150 years old today!
The milestone was due to marked with celebrations, but they are postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic, as most of the 120 staff are working from home.

Then & now – Market Harborough Building Society on The Square
The first formal meeting of the Society took place in the former Corn Exchange in Abbey Street in 1870, before switching to the Old Grammar School on the High Street, and then moving to an office in 1872.
Today the Society has six branches across South Leicestershire and North Northamptonshire, including in Market Harborough, at Welland House on The Square, which is also the Head Office
Chief Executive Mark Robinson told Hfm the ethos of the Society remains the same as when it first launched and he is proud of the support it gives to the community, through supporting local events and providing grants to groups and organisations:
