A bogus workman has stolen cash and sentimental jewellery from the home of an elderly woman in Market Harborough.
It happened at about 5pm on Monday when he called at her house in Oak Close off Douglas Drive, saying he was due to carry out work on her roof.
He was let in and stole the items from a bedroom after asking to use the toilet, before leaving in a white van.
They included an eternity ring, an engraved watch belonging to the victim’s late husband and a gold link watch that he’d bought her.
A bag of coins, a ring and a chain with a pendant were also taken, as well as cash from the victim’s purse.
Police are appealing for information, including sightings of the man in the area around the time.
