Market Harborough’s In Bloom Team are looking good after a housebuilder funded new polo shirts for them.

Davidsons Homes donated £375 to kit out 25 of the volunteers and has also become an annual sponsor of the group, which works tirelessly to design, plant and maintain floral displays at over 70 locations across the town.

Sara Holland and Amber Kanwal, Sales Managers for Davidsons Homes with Toni Cox, Alex Scott, Barbara Tallis, Christine Doxford and Susan Clow from Market Harborough in Bloom.

Barbara Tallis, Chair of Market Harborough in Bloom, said: “Although we currently receive a grant from the council, it only covers about 60 per cent of our annual operating costs. We have to raise the rest from sponsors, donations and plant sales. This why our annual sponsors like Davidsons Homes are so crucial – without them we couldn’t maintain all that we do.

“Our volunteers give hundreds of hours to Market Harborough in Bloom every year and to wear a distinctive team polo shirt, sponsored by Davidsons Homes, will give them a real boost when they are gardening in warm weather.”

Simon Tyler, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “We know how much hard work the volunteers put into their gardening projects, so it was a natural choice to reach out and extend our support to Market Harborough in Bloom.

“We are pleased to have contributed towards the group continuing their fantastic work in making the town look lovely, especially as we approach the summer months.”
