Attempted Murder Charge After Man Seriously Injured

A man has appeared in court accused of attempted murder after a man was seriously injured in Scraptoft.
Gurpinder Singh, 31, of New Romney Crescent, Leicester, is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
The victim, in his 20s, suffered a slash wound in the incident in Covert Lane on Saturday evening and remains in hospital.
Singh is also charged with making threats to kill and assault, which Police say relate to a separate victim and are alleged to have been committed during the same incident.
He has appeared before Leicester Magistrates’ court and been remanded in custody.
