Arrests After Man ‘Sprayed’ In Face

Two women have been questioned after a man was sprayed in the face with an ‘unknown substance’ in Broughton Astley.

The 20 and 23-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm following an incident at a house in New Inn Close on Wednesday evening.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

The incident prompted a large scale response from emergency services, including a hazardous materials disposal van being dispatched by the fire service.

The women have been released under investigation while Police inquiries continue.
