Arrests After Man Seriously Assaulted

Men from Desborough and Rothwell have been arrested in connection with a serious assault.

The victim suffered serious facial and arm injuries during the incident in a park in Kettering on Friday night.

The 20-year-old man from Desborough and 24-year-old man from Rothwell were arrested today on suspicion of Section 18 – wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm – and remain in police custody.

Police officers attended Highfield Road in Kettering at about 7pm on Friday, following reports a man had been seriously assaulted at the nearby Spring Rise park.

The victim, aged in his 30s, continues to receive hospital treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Three men from Kettering have also been arrested as part of enquires by Northamptonshire Police.
