Arrest In Desborough After Petrol Station Thefts

Police have questioned a man from Desborough about a spate of fuel thefts from petrol stations across Northamptonshire.
The 32-year-old was arrested when officers stopped a VW Golf in the town’s Nichols Street on Wednesday and discovered containers full of petrol on the back seat.
A spokesperson for Northanptonshire Police said the driver was arrested on suspicion of theft and has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
The car was also seized.
