Approval For Flood Alleviation Work

Work will take place to deal with persistent flooding in parts of Market Harborough, Thorpe Langton and Broughton Astley.

Leicestershire County Council has approved plans totalling tens of thousands of pounds and is now working on the detailed designs for the flood alleviation schemes.

They will take place on:

  • Northampton Road, Market Harborough – to address persistent and continued footpath flooding by the junction with Patrick Street, to help residents and local businesses by renewing sections of the road drainage system.
  • Welland Road, Thorpe Langton – Replacement of old highway drainage system with a new system.
  • Dunton Road, Broughton Astley – Renewal works to the drainage system and balancing pond to tackle local flooding.

Timing for the works is still to be confirmed.

Work will take place on Northampton Road in Market Harborough
