Appeal As Arts Fresco Hit By Funding Blow

A major fundraising appeal has been launched after one of Market Harborough’s most popular events was hit by a funding blow.
An application for national grant funding towards hosting this year’s free street arts festival has been rejected, meaning it won’t take place in its usual form.
The team of volunteers who organise the event have now launched an appeal for support, in the hope the event can return as normal in 2025.

Instead roads being closed and professional acts performing across the town centre throughout the day, this year ‘Arts Fresco Lite’ will be held, to support the fundraising.
Three professional acts will perform on Saturday September 7th and people will be asked to give generously to bucket collections.
Arts Fresco attracts thousands of visitors and is one of the largest, free street theatre festivals in the UK and for a traditional Arts Fresco festival to go ahead next year, the total cost will be around £30,000.
Organisers have identified around £10,000 from established supporters and sponsors, but need help from the public to raise the additional funds required.
