Appeal After ATM Stolen In Ram-Raid

Police are appealing for witnesses after a ram-raid in Brixworth early this morning.
Thieves used a bronze Nissan Navara pick-up truck to drive into the front of the Co-Op on Harborough Road at 1.10am, before stealing the cash machine.

The front of the shop was left damaged following the raid and a Police scene guard is in place while investigations continue.
Cllr Jonathan Harris represents Brixworth on West Northamptonshire Council and said he was ‘absolutely shocked and horrified’ by the incident.
He added: “Rural communities are increasingly subject to organised crimes of this nature.
“No one was harmed which is the key thing, but these incidents cause great anxiety and inconvenience to our communities.
“The police need to urgently identify vulnerabilities across the the area and there needs to be a rethink about the siting of ATM machines.
“I intend to write to the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner to seek assurances that urgent action be taken to address these concerns.”
Detectives are asking anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage of the raid to come forward.

The incident is not believed to be linked to a ram raid in Farmstead Road, Corby, which also happened during the early hours of today.
