All Set For Market Harborough Carnival!
Written by HFM News on 7th June 2019
Final plans are being put in place ahead of tomorrow’s Market Harborough Carnival.
Volunteers, who took over running the event last year, say they have turned into more of a festival this year, with live music continuing at the Symington’s Recreation Ground into the evening.
There will be all the traditional elements too, including the float parade round town from 10.45am and ahead of that around 800 runners will be pounding the streets as they take part in the Carnival Of Running.
A number of roads will be closed during the parade – click HERE for the details.
The theme of the Carnival this year is ‘A Moment In Time’ and this year’s event will be helping four local charities to raise much-needed funds; Bower House Support Services, Beech Tree Bunnies, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and Vista.
Special guest will be ‘Hoop Guy’ Aka John Parnell. who reached the semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2017, who will be in the children’s Entertainment Tent.
Also returning is ‘Harborough Heroes’, where local people are recognised for their contribution to the town.
Hfm is proud to be supporting the Carnival again this year and look out for the team!
Admission to the Showground is £2 for adults, a pound for children or £5 for a family.
People can avoid queuing to enter the showground this year, by buying entry wristbands in advance.
They are available from the Rainbows and Randalls shops in the town centre, as well as Nationwide, The Grooming Room and Pressing Appointments.
