Plan To Cut Speed Limit On Some Roads

Plans have been announced to reduce the speed limit on some rural roads in the Harborough District, following a number of crashes.
Highway bosses are proposing cutting it from 60 to 50mph on Newton Lane, Fleckney Road and Leicester Road.
The reduction would also happen on Oakham Road in Tilton On The Hill.
Leicestershire County Council say the move follows a study that’s found 60% of collisions where someone is injured happen on rural roads where drivers exceed the 60 limit.
