Northamptonshire County Council’s held an extraordinary meeting – as it says it may have to cut services to a legal minimum.
The authority is effectively bankrupt.
It needs to find £70m worth of savings over the next few months – but the council leader insists their plan to do this will protect vulnerable people.
Protesters gathered ahead of the meeting in Northampton last night and one public speaker held a minute’s silence, saying it was to think about those who will be affected by the cuts.
