Police are making a direct appeal to the community in Thurnby as a father and his 15-year-old son remain in a life-threatening condition following an attack at their family home.
The incident happened in Station Road, at the junction with Somerby Road, shortly before 12.30am on Thursday (October 8th).
The man, in his 50s, and his teenage son were stabbed after two masked men entered the property and attacked them.
Both are in a critical condition in hospital.
The mother, a woman in her 40s, suffered minor injuries and has since been discharged from hospital. Three other children who were inside the house were not injured.
Armed police officers attended the scene, but the suspects had left before they arrived.

The investigation is being led by the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), with officers continuing enquiries and searches over the weekend.
Police will also maintain a presence in the area, with neighbourhood officers carrying out reassurance patrols.
Detective Inspector Lorna Granville, who is leading the investigation, said the attack appeared to have been completely unprovoked.
She said: “This was a violent attack against a family in their own home which appears to have been completely unprovoked.
“Our investigation to understand what happened and why – and identify those behind such a horrific criminal act – is going to continue over the weekend.
“I’m making a direct appeal to people in Thurnby and the surrounding communities to come forward with any information if they haven’t already done so. We owe it to the victims to locate the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”
