Carol Tilley Set For Another Charity Walk After Raising £150,000

Written by on 3rd October 2026

A long-running charity walk organised by a dedicated Market Harborough fundraiser is taking place tomorrow.

Carol Tilley has organised the annual event for nearly 50 years, raising more than £150,000 for good causes along the way.

This year’s 10-mile route starts and finishes at the Beerhouse, with money being raised for the town’s Jubilee Foodbank and HFM’s ongoing fundraising drive.

Carol is dressing as a hot dog as a nod to the food bank.

More than £1,000 has already been raised this year, with further donations expected to come in, including from an on-line donation page.

Around ten people are expected to join Carol on the walk, which will head along the Grand Union Canal from the Waterfront to Foxton before continuing to Lubenham.

From Lubenham, the route heads back towards Market Harborough along the road, finishing where it began at the Beerhouse.

Carol also takes part in fancy dress every year, and this time she’ll be dressing as a hot dog as a nod to the food bank.

She told HFM she’s proud to have kept the annual event going for so many years:
