Harborough Police Pledge Action Against ‘Racing’ Drivers
Written by HFM News on 25th July 2018
Police are pledging to take tough action against drivers using the road between East Farndon and Market Harborough as a racetrack.
Officers say some cars have been travelling at very high speed, mounting the pavement and going the wrong way round the roundabout at the junction with Freshmen Way.
They fear someone could be seriously injured or even killed if it continues.
Speed checks will now be carried out there – which is in a 30mph zone – and further along the road towards East Farndon – in a bid to catch those responsible.
Harborough Police say it follows numerous complaints from concerned residents in the area.
Speed checks in other areas are also planned.
