It caps an incredible 2026, after the brass band also won the Midlands Regional Championships in March, securing its first Area Championship title in 70 years.

Musical Director Ben Smith, who stepped in to lead the band this year, has been praised for his role in the success.

Reflecting on the victory, Ben said he was “absolutely over the moon”.

He said he asked the band to give 110 per cent and perform with “passion and energy”, adding that he was proud of what they achieved after “endless hours of work”.

The band has thanked Ben, all the players, supporters and families who have been part of the journey.

They say 2026 will forever be remembered as the year Harborough Band made history.
