More Poignant WW1 Soldier Silhouettes Appear

Written by on 24th July 2018

Silhouettes of a soldier have been placed in Fleckey and Broughton Astley as part of commemorations to mark 100 years since the end of World War One.

The Parish Council has placed the ‘Tommy’ – a six foot transparent aluminum figure with its head bowed and gun in hand – on the side of the library in Fleckney, while Harborough Council has installed one close to the War Memorial in Broughton Astley.

Another of the silhouettes was put beside the memorial on Market Harborough’s Square earlier this year, as part of a national initiative.
