No Trains From Market Harborough This Weekend

Passengers travelling from Market Harborough are being warned of disruption this weekend because of engineering works.

There will be no trains serving the station, with replacement buses running to Leicester and Loughborough, or to Kettering where passengers can re-join trains.

East Midlands Railway services will also be running to a reduced timetable.

The work is part of upgrades at Leicester station and Knighton Junction.

Network Rail operations director Eric Larocque said the improvements will help provide a smoother and more reliable railway by improving track quality and reducing the need for future maintenance.

He added: “We encourage anyone planning to travel over the weekend to check their journey before setting off, as buses will replace trains on parts of the route and journey times may be longer than usual.”
