Man Charged over Market Harborough Shop Burglaries

A man has been charged in connection with a series of shop burglaries in Market Harborough.

Damion Maloney, 47, of no fixed abode, is accused of breaking into Windowsill Houseplants on Roman Way on May 29th, and Lilybelle Beauty and Nails on St Mary’s Road and women’s clothing store Bebooted on Church Square on June 4th.

Police say the break-ins involved glass doors being smashed to gain entry, with cash stolen from some of the premises.

Maloney has been charged following an investigation by Leicestershire Police into the incidents.

He has been released on bail with conditions, including not entering Market Harborough, ahead of appearing at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on July 9th.

Police enquiries into the burglaries remain ongoing.
