Work Begins Ahead of New Friendship Park Sculpture

A new illuminated sculpture is a step closer to arriving in Market Harborough.

Preparation work has begun ahead of the installation of the three-metre-tall steel artwork at the Friendship Park on Northampton Road, set for later this month.

The sculpture will feature friendship-themed words and phrases, which will be projected onto the park’s pathways after dark.

A small section of the park has been fenced off while the base and electrical connections are completed before the artwork is lowered into place.

The sculpture will be located on the site of a former mobile phone mast and the £10,000 project is being funded by FCC Environment, the council’s contractor which helped create the park last year.
