Firefighters Called to Kibworth Church Over Flagpole Concern

Firefighters were called to St Wilfrid’s Church in Kibworth after concerns a flagpole was in danger of falling from the top of building.

Crews from Market Harborough and Birstall attended just before 4pm on Friday, using an aerial ladder platform to inspect the flagpole.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Following an inspection, crews determined there was no immediate danger of the flagpole falling.

“A cordon was put in place around the area before the incident was handed over to a responsible person.”
