Traffic Surveys Underway as Junction Improvements Considered

Traffic in Market Harborough is being closely monitored as highways officials look at ways to improve key junctions in the town.

Temporary CCTV cameras have been installed by Leicestershire County Council at a number of locations, including the town centre.

The first phase of the project will focus on improvements along Rockingham Road later this year.

A council spokesperson said: “Cameras have been installed to help the council understand traffic flows during the development of transport schemes in this area.

“The first phase of the programme is the provision of new cycling and walking facilities and junction improvements along Rockingham Road and St Mary’s Road. Construction of this scheme is scheduled to start later this year and a good evidence base will form part of this work.”
