‘Third Party’ Caused Major Water Outage

A burst water main that left hundreds of households in Desborough and surrounding villages without supplies was caused by damage from a “third party.”

The incident on Rothwell Road on Monday afternoon saw water restored yesterday morning after a temporary fix.

Anglian Water says a full repair will now take place, with no further disruption expected.

A spokesperson added: “The burst was on Rothwell Road and was due to third-party damage to a water main.

“Everyone was back on water yesterday following a temporary repair, with a full repair to follow shortly, but no further impact to customers’ supplies is expected.”
