A427 Overnight Closures for Carriageway Repairs

Written by on 10th March 2026

The A427 between Market Harborough and Corby will be closed for the next three nights for carriageway repairs.

Work is taking place on Stoke Hill near Stoke Albany from 8pm to 6am each night until Friday.

Drivers are being advised to follow a diversion via the A6, A14, A43, and A6003 in both directions.

The repairs, carried out by North Northamptonshire Council, come ahead of a planned surface dressing programme later in 2026 and follow work on the A6 Rothwell/Desborough bypass last week.

Cllr Chris McGiffen, Council’s Executive Member for Highways and Travel, said: “We know that repairing the roads across North Northamptonshire is a priority for so many residents and we are listening to your concerns. Going forward, we are determined to make an impact on repairing the network, especially after such a wet and rainy winter.

“This work is the start of this process and will be followed by an extensive surface dressing programme later in 2026.”
