Flooding Prompts Safety Warning

A Flood Alert has been issued for the River Welland.

The Environment Agency is warning low-lying land, roads and paths near the river and its tributaries in the Market Harborough area are likely to be affected.

There is already flooding in Lubenham and some roads elsewhere are impassible, including near Wistow.

A similar alert is in force for the River Sense in Leicestershire, including in the Great Glen area.

Residents are being urged to take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through floodwater, particularly on low-lying roads near rivers.
