Market Harborough tip set to get busier as Lutterworth site closes for repairs

The tip in Market Harborough is expected to be busier over the coming weeks as the site in Lutterworth is closed for repairs.

Leicestershire County Council is carrying out concrete repairs at the Household Waste and Recycling site in Morebarns Lane until the end of March, meaning residents will need to use alternative facilities while the work is completed.

The Harborough site on Riverside is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The tip in Bottesford is also closed for repairs and Councillor Adam Tilbury, cabinet member for environment and waste, said: “These essential improvements will ensure our household waste and recycling sites remain safe, accessible, and fit for purpose now and into the future.

“While we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closures, the replacement of an ageing cabin at Bottesford and the repair works at Lutterworth are necessary investments. I thank residents for their understanding and encourage them to use their nearest alternative site during the works.”
