Planning permission has been granted for nearly 40 affordable homes in Market Harborough, despite over 100 objections.
The development on fields off Angell Drive on the Farndon Fields estate will be accessed from Henry Road and border the Gracelands Park Home site.
It will include 30 homes for social rent and 8 for shared ownership.
Residents raised concerns over traffic, flood risk, and the loss of open space, but planning officers at Harborough District Council said the scheme would help meet both general and affordable housing needs and support local infrastructure.
Councillors approved the plans by five votes to three, with one abstention at a meeting last night.
