Prolific Burglar Jailed After High-Performance Car Thefts

A prolific burglar who targeted homes across Leicestershire to steal high-performance cars has been jailed for six years.

Theo Ramsey, 19, committed offences overnight in towns and villages including Market Harborough, Fleckney, and Broughton Astley between January and March last year, mostly while occupants were asleep.

Homes were broken into and cars stolen from Page Road, Market Harborough on March 3rd and Main Street in Fleckney on February 17th.

CCTV and phone evidence linked him to the crimes.

Ramsey, formerly of New Fields Avenue, Leicester, pleaded guilty to twelve counts of burglary, nine counts of motor vehicle theft, two counts of attempted burglary, and other offences.

He was jailed at Leicester Crown Court and will serve his sentence at a Young Offender Institution.

Detective Constable Billie-Jo Kent, who led the investigation, said: “The majority of Ramsey’s offences took place overnight while people were in their beds.

“The incidents were extremely distressing, and many of the vehicles stolen were high-value cars.

“The evidence against him was overwhelming, and he had no choice but to plead guilty.

“We hope this outcome reassures victims and the wider public that we take these offences seriously and bring offenders to justice.”
