Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public after identifying the man involved in an incident where a schoolboy was ‘grabbed’ in Market Harborough.
They have confirmed he was attempting to resolve an issue, but had mistaken the 13-year-old for someone else – calling it ‘a very clear example of how not to handle a problem’.
An alert was issued following the incident last Thursday afternoon, as the boy was walking home from Welland Park Academy.
Although it is still being treated as a crime, officers are reassuring the community there is no wider risk.

The incident happened at the junction of Welland Park Road and Farndon Road
