Council Action Over Newton Harcourt Speeding
Written by HFM on 14th November 2025
Residents worried about traffic speeding through Newton Harcourt are being invited to share their experiences with Leicestershire County Council.
It’s after Phil King, the Councillor for Gartree Division, became aware of villagers’ concerns about vehicles travelling too quickly, and inconsistent speed limits on Glen Road and Newton Lane.
The review he requested has been commissioned by the Council’s Traffic & Safety Team – with County Highways also being asked to replace broken vehicle activated speed warning signs in Newton Harcourt.
Surveys will be carried out on the westbound approach to Glen Road – with results expected within eight to twelve weeks, once analysis is complete.
Meantime, residents can submit comments through the County Council’s contact portal at >>HERE<<.
