Poundland Closes For Final Time

Shoppers in Market Harborough will no longer be able to pop into the town’s Poundland, which has closed its doors, resulting in around ten jobs being lost.

The store, based in the Commons Car Park, had been serving the local community for just over four years.

Its closure is part of a wider restructuring plan following the sale of the discount retailer earlier this year, with Poundland deciding not to renew the lease on the premises.

Poundland has closed its doors for the final time

A Poundland spokesperson previously told HFM: “We’re obviously sorry we haven’t been able to agree lease terms that would allow us to keep trading.

“Whenever we have to close a store in these circumstances, we always consult with colleagues and look for alternatives.”

The building is now being marketed for rent, offering an opportunity for a new business to move into the town centre.
