Friends Begin Big Cycling Challenge

Written by on 20th June 2025

A group of friends from Kibworth have set off on a gruelling cycling challenge that has already raised over £10,000 for LOROS Hospice.

Craig Morris and fellow Kibworth Velo Club riders Ben Cave, Scott Monan and Ady Ward are covering over 380 miles by going coast to coast across Scotland, England and Wales on successive days.

Distance isn’t the only factor, as the ride will climb 7,740 metres in elevation – close to the height of Mount Everest.

Craig devised the challenge to raise money for LOROS Hospice and to recognise the ‘real life angels’ who lovingly looked after his mum Linda in her final days.

The team set themselves a fundraising target of £5,000, yet cruised past that mark several weeks ago thanks to an overwhelming show of support from family, friends, colleagues and local businesses.

The riding Dads are being supported by Jason Buchannan, who is the support driver and Craig spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw before the friends set off today:
