Banking Hub Set To Relocate To St Mary’s Place

Market Harborough’s Banking Hub is set to relocate to a permanent base in the town’s St Mary’s Place.

The facility has been operating from the Symington Building on a temporary basis since March, following several bank closures.

Plans have now been revealed to move the hub into a vacant shop near the St Mary’s Road entrance of the shopping precinct, formally the Solutions gift shop.

Cash Access UK have submitted a planning application to Harborough District Council to make changes to the interior and exterior of the premises.

If the move goes ahead, the banking hub would continue to be operated by Post Office.

Gareth Thomas, president of Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce told HFM it would be the ideal location and businesses can find out more about banking services in the town at the group’s next meeting later this month:

A Cash Access UK spokesperson told HFM: “Cash Access UK is actively working to secure a permanent home for the banking hub in Market Harborough.

“In the meantime, residents and businesses can continue to access the hub’s services at its temporary home in the Symington Building.

“The hub is open daily for routine banking transactions, with community bankers available on designated days to support with more specific or complex enquiries.

“We hope to provide an update on the hub’s permanent home soon.”
