More New Homes Planned For Fleckney

Plans have been announced for another new housing estate in Fleckney.

David Wilson Homes wants to build up to 170 houses of various sizes on 18-and-a-half acres of land to the north of Kilby Road.

The submission of a planning application to Harborough District Council comes after the same developer lodged plans last month to build a similar amount of homes on land off Leicester Road.

The latest plan would see access to the new site off Long Grey and Garner Way and David Wilson say the development will include affordable housing, a large amount of public open space, a children’s play area and allotments.

The land has not previously been identified for development, but Harborough District Council cannot currently demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, meaning it is subject to speculative planning applications.
